Session Description: This interactive 90-minute session gives mentor coaches a practical framework and structured space to recognize and manage resonance bias: the unconscious pull toward those who “think like us.” Using the LENS Framework — Listen, Examine, Neutralize, Support — participants learn how to refocus attention from the familiar to the fresh, strengthening awareness, presence, and inclusivity in their mentoring practice.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify how resonance and similarity bias can unconsciously shape mentor–mentee dynamics and influence the quality of listening, reflection, and feedback.
Upon completion, participant will be able to apply the "LENS" Framework - Listen, Examine, Neutralize, Support - to recognize and regulate bias in real time while maintaining presence and neutrality.
Upon completion, participant will be able to demonstrate curiosity-based questioning and reflective techniques that help mentees—especially those transitioning from consulting or technical fields—shift from expertise-driven responses to exploratory, client-centered dialogue.
