Session Description: Transform your coaching and communication through the power of improv and play. As coaches, we are improvisers; we have structures and competencies, but to apply those most effectively, we must be in the moment — listening, connecting, and co-creating.
In this session of Improv for Coaches, we will use improv rules and structures from theater and comedy, as well as those tailored specifically for coaches, to experiment, play, and learn. You will become comfortable with not preplanning or getting ahead in your coaching conversations, and you will learn to trust in the bottomless well of ideas and possibilities that we all — coaches and clients — have access to at any time.
Whatever your level of coaching, Improv for Coaches will elevate creativity, confidence, and impact. Plus, it is a lot of fun. This session will be facilitated by the authors of Coaching with a Twist, who will demonstrate each exercise. You will spend the bulk of the session engaging in paired and group exercises, along with integrated discussion. Not only will you learn, but you will also leave with the learning already integrated through practice and with greater connection to other coaches.
We are all improvising all of the time — using these techniques will help you connect with your inner improvisational genius and sharpen skills you use not only in coaching, but in every aspect of life.
